Welcome to Locwire ("Locwire", "we", "our", or "us"). Locwire.com is a real-time location-sharing mobile application that allows users to create and join location-sharing groups called "Wires," share live GPS/GPRS-based location data, view group members on an interactive map, and track and store travel history.
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms", "Agreement") govern your access to and use of the Locwire mobile application, website at locwire.com, and all associated services (collectively, the "Service"). This Agreement is a legally binding contract between you ("User", "you") and Locwire.com.
By downloading, installing, registering for, or using the Locwire application, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must immediately cease all use of the application and uninstall it from your device.
For the purpose of these Terms, the following definitions shall apply:
You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Locwire application. If you are under the age of 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and consented to these Terms on your behalf. Users under 13 years of age are strictly prohibited from using the Service. 3.2 Account Registration

You may not create an account on behalf of another person without their explicit consent. You may not register for more than one personal account. Locwire reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or are determined to be fraudulent.
The core feature of Locwire is the ability to create or join location-sharing groups called Wires. The Wire Creator may establish group settings, invite members, and manage participation. Wire Members who accept an invitation will have their live location visible to all other members of that Wire while they are active.
When a user is active within a Wire, their live geographic location is continuously tracked and transmitted using one or both of the following modes:
The application may automatically switch between GPS and GPRS modes depending on signal availability and device conditions to ensure the most accurate location data possible.
All active Wire Members are displayed on an interactive map powered by Apple Maps and/or Google Maps. Each member's real-time position is shown using visual markers. Users may pan, zoom, and interact with the map to view member locations.
The application automatically records each user's movement during an active Wire session as a "Trip." Trip data may include:
Completed Trips are stored as Trip History and may be reviewed by the user and, depending on Wire settings, by other Wire Members or the Wire Creator. Users may be able to delete individual trip records subject to the data retention policies described herein.
Locwire integrates Apple Maps and Google Maps as its mapping infrastructure. By using the application, you acknowledge that:
By using the Locwire application, you expressly and freely consent to the collection, processing, storage, and sharing of your real-time geographic location data. This consent is voluntary, and you may withdraw it at any time by leaving any active Wires, disabling location permissions for the application in your device settings, or deleting your account. However, withdrawal of consent may render the core features of the application inaccessible.

Location data obtained through GPS may vary in accuracy based on environmental conditions, device hardware, satellite availability, and obstruction by buildings or terrain. Location data obtained through GPRS is generally less precise and provides an approximate position only. Locwire makes no warranty regarding the absolute accuracy of any location data displayed within the application.
Your use of the application is also governed by the Locwire Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. The Privacy Policy provides detailed information about how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal and location data. We strongly encourage you to read the Privacy Policy in full at locwire.com/privacy before using the Service.
As a user of Locwire, you agree to use the Service solely for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms. You are solely responsible for your conduct and any data, text, information, and content that you submit, post, or display through the Service.
You expressly agree NOT to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:
If you create a Wire, you assume the role of Wire Creator and accept additional responsibilities, including:
The Locwire application, website, and all content, features, and functionality thereof — including but not limited to all software, text, graphics, logos, icons, user interface design, audio clips, and data compilations — are the exclusive property of Locwire.com and its licensors. All rights are reserved. The application and its content are protected by applicable intellectual property laws including copyright, trademark, and patent laws.
The name "Locwire," the Locwire logo, and all related names, marks, product and service names, designs, and slogans are trademarks of Locwire.com. You may not use such marks without the prior written permission of Locwire. All other names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans are trademarks of their respective owners.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Locwire grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the application solely for your personal, non-commercial use on a device you own or control. This license does not include any right to:
By submitting or generating content through the application (including location data and trip records), you grant Locwire a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, store, reproduce, display, and process such content solely for the purposes of operating and improving the Service, as described in the Privacy Policy.
Locwire integrates Apple Maps, which is provided by Apple Inc. Your use of Apple Maps within the application is subject to Apple's Maps Terms of Service, available at apple.com/legal. Locwire is not responsible for the accuracy, reliability, availability, or content of Apple Maps, and does not endorse, warrant, or assume any liability for any third-party content accessed through Apple Maps.
Locwire integrates Google Maps, provided by Google LLC. Your use of Google Maps within the application is subject to Google's Terms of Service and Google Maps Platform Terms of Service, available at google.com/help/terms_maps. Locwire is not responsible for any data collected by Google through the use of Google Maps functionality within the application. For information on Google's data practices, please review the Google Privacy Policy.
The application accesses location services provided by your device's operating system (iOS or Android). Locwire operates within the permissions framework provided by Apple and Google for iOS and Android devices respectively. You are responsible for managing location permissions within your device settings.
References to any third-party services, products, or websites within the application do not constitute or imply endorsement, sponsorship, or recommendation by Locwire. Locwire is not responsible for and makes no warranties regarding third-party services, content, or websites.
Trip History data, including recorded routes, timestamps, distances, and associated metadata, is retained on Locwire's servers for a period as specified in the Privacy Policy. Users may request deletion of specific trip records or all historical data through the application settings or by contacting support@locwire.com.
While users may request deletion of their data, Locwire may be required to retain certain information for legal compliance, dispute resolution, enforcement of agreements, or as otherwise required by applicable law. Deleted data may persist in encrypted backup systems for a limited time before permanent removal.
If you delete your Locwire account, your profile information and associated trip history will be permanently deleted from our active systems, subject to the limitations described above. Location data shared within Wires may persist in logs associated with other Wire Members' accounts and may not be fully removed at individual request.
Locwire is designed to enhance safety and connectivity. However, users are solely responsible for their personal safety and the safety of others when using the application. The following safety guidelines apply:
Location data displayed in the application is provided as-is and may not always reflect a user's exact position. Factors including building interference, tunnel coverage, atmospheric conditions, and GPRS signal strength may result in inaccurate or delayed location readings. Do not make time-sensitive or safety-critical decisions based solely on Locwire location data.
Locwire is not an emergency response service. The application must not be used as a substitute for calling emergency services (e.g., 911, 112, or your local emergency number). In any emergency situation, contact the appropriate emergency service immediately.
THE LOCWIRE APPLICATION AND ALL SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, LOCWIRE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Without limiting the foregoing, Locwire does not warrant that:
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, LOCWIRE AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, PARTNERS, AND LICENSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES — INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, GOODWILL, DATA, USE, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES — ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APPLICATION.
This limitation applies regardless of whether such liability arises in tort, contract, or any other legal theory, even if Locwire has been advised of the possibility of such damages. In no event shall Locwire's total aggregate liability to any user exceed the amount paid by such user for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties or limitation of incidental or consequential damages. Accordingly, some of the above limitations may not apply to you. In such cases, Locwire's liability will be limited to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Locwire, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, and licensors from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, debts, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
This indemnification obligation shall survive termination of these Terms and your use of the application.
You may discontinue use of the application and terminate your account at any time by following the account deletion process within the application settings or by contacting support@locwire.com. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.
Locwire reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time, without prior notice, for any of the following reasons:
Upon termination of your account, all provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including intellectual property provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity obligations, and limitations of liability.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Locwire.com is incorporated, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Users in different jurisdictions may have additional rights under local law.
In the event of any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the use of the application, the parties agree to first attempt resolution through good-faith negotiation. If resolution cannot be reached informally within thirty (30) days, the dispute may be submitted to binding arbitration or litigation in the applicable courts of competent jurisdiction.
To the extent permitted by law, you agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action. You waive any right to participate as a class representative or class member in any class action lawsuit against Locwire.
Locwire reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. When changes are made, we will:
Your continued use of the application after any changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you must discontinue use of the application immediately.
Locwire takes the privacy of children seriously. The application is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information, including location data, from children under 13. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 13, we will take immediate steps to delete such information.
For users between the ages of 13 and 17, a parent or legal guardian must review and consent to these Terms and the use of the application on the minor's behalf. Wire Creators must exercise particular care not to add minors to Wires without appropriate parental consent.
If any provision of these Terms is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, such provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions of these Terms shall continue in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with the Locwire Privacy Policy and any other agreements expressly incorporated by reference herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and Locwire with respect to the subject matter hereof and supersede all prior agreements, representations, and understandings.
Locwire's failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not be deemed a waiver of such right or provision. Any waiver of any provision shall be effective only if in writing and signed by a duly authorized representative of Locwire.
You may not assign or transfer any rights or obligations under these Terms without Locwire's prior written consent. Locwire may freely assign these Terms without restriction.
Locwire shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance arising from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, pandemics, war, terrorism, government actions, labor disputes, power failures, or Internet or telecommunications infrastructure failures.
